Urdaneta Park

This park and monument was built in honor of Spanish navigator and priest Fray Andres de Urdaneta. Already completed is the half size modern version of Urdaneta's ship with the monument of Fr. Urdaneta atop. Underneath the galleon is a chapel, which also serves as a gallery for artists from Northern Luzon.

Mayor Amadeo R. Perez Jr. of Urdaneta and Mayor Jose Miguel Sta. Maria Eziza of Urdizia City (the sister city of Urdaneta), Spain lead the inauguration of the newly constructed mini park and monument in front of the New Urdaneta City Hall. Mayor Perez said that the construction of the mini park cost some P7 million. A portion of the amount was provided by the Urdizia City government with counterpart fund from Urdaneta City government.
